Cleaning, inspection, or repair...?

Even when used properly, cartridges are subject to wear caused by mechanical tracking and the natural aging of moving parts. This is normal and, unfortunately, cannot be avoided...
In addition, it often happens that cartridges are damaged during installation, adjustment, or use. This is not only frustrating, but a new system can also be very expensive.

In most cases, these cartridges can be restored by replacing the defective stylus (retipping) or the worn rubber. I would like to offer you my services for restoration, cleaning, and inspection.

Stylus carriers

Stylus carriers differ primarily in the materials used, with A2017 or A5052 aluminum being the most common choices. In addition to aluminum, other materials such as titanium, boron, zirconia, ruby, or even diamond are also used. Unfortunately, this often results in a higher price.
... there are also some exotic options, such as needle holders made from cactus spines...
The hard materials exhibit significantly higher stiffness, which can be quite audible—if that’s your thing...

Stylus shapes

Stylus shapes are categorized into spherical, elliptical, Shibata III, Micro-Ridge, PA, and others. The names are interesting, but technically, the difference lies primarily in the radii—how the stylus tips are ground. The radii have a significant influence on mechanical tracking. If the stylus can follow the groove in the record more precisely, this is also audible. In addition, wear on both the stylus and the record is significantly reduced!
Consequently, the lifespan of the stylus and your valuable records is extended.
